EDC Las Vegas
Weather & terrain
EDC runs on a flipped clock — gates open in the evening and sets run past sunrise. Desert nights start warm and end cold, and the speedway kicks up dust when the wind picks up.
The typical range
Expect evenings 80-90°F at gates at the hottest point and pre-dawn 55-65°F — that swing, not the average, is what your layers need to cover. You will sweat at midnight and shiver at 5am on the speedway. A light warm layer you can tie off or stash is essential; the sunrise sets are the best part and the coldest.
Build around conditions, not averages
Historical conditions help you choose categories, but a current forecast and official alerts should decide your final layer, rain, dust, and heat plan.
A simple final check
Seven days out, recheck the forecast, event communications, travel route, and your official rules source. Repack only what those current conditions change.
