A Moving-in ticket buys an extra day on the Basic Camping field before the crowds arrive, and that first look at where the shade actually falls changes the rest of the stay. Forgot sunscreen or a phone charger? There's an ALDI on the island itself, so a gap in your bag doesn't mean a trip into the city to fix it. Budapest is right there anyway — build in one city afternoon and use it as your reset.

Getting there

The venue is Óbuda Island, on the Danube in Budapest. Fly into BUD (Budapest) and base yourself around Budapest (20 min to center). Typical timing: five days, mid-August (Aug 11-15 in 2026; Aug 10-14 in 2027) — confirm your edition's exact dates on the official site before booking anything nonrefundable.

Know the scale

You are joining roughly 90,000 per day; about 357,000 total across the five days in 2026, down from 416,000 over the old six-day format the year before at an event running since 1993. That number shapes everything first-timers underestimate: entry lines, cell coverage, water station queues, and how long it takes to cross the grounds.
