EDC runs on a flipped clock — gates open in the evening and sets run past sunrise. Desert nights start warm and end cold, and the speedway kicks up dust whenever the wind picks up. Wind is the real weather risk here, not rain: a cold front on the 2026 edition's final night pushed gusts past 60 mph and closed Circuit Grounds, BassPod, and Quantum Valley for hours, matching disruptions the festival has already seen in 2025, 2019, and 2012.
The party ends at dawn — your 6am self will thank you for the layer and the earplugs. Your hydration pack has to be bone dry to clear the gate, and first-night entry lines have run two hours long in 100°F heat, so carry a sealed water bottle to drink while you wait rather than the pack you're saving for inside. Decide your shuttle, drive, or Camp EDC plan before night one — the trip back to the Strip is the hardest part of EDC for anyone staying off-site.

Recent editions allow CLEAR bags up to 12 x 6 x 12 inches, or a non-clear small clutch up to 6 x 9 inches. Hydration packs (clear or not) are fine with two main compartments and one smaller one, but must be empty at the gate. Festival totems are allowed up to 10 feet tall if built from lightweight material like foam or PVC — no solid metal. Aerosol cans, glass, coolers, outside food and drink, tents, large umbrellas, chairs, blankets, and professional recording gear are barred; e-cigs and vapes are explicitly allowed. EDC dressing is nocturnal for most: you leave the hotel at sunset. Camp EDC's crowd lives the daytime heat too, so add the shade and water discipline of a desert festival on top of the standard night look. Rave wear, kandi, and reflective everything are the norm — but build it on a base that survives ten hours of dancing and a 40-degree temperature swing. Is EDC Las Vegas changing its format?
Yes — confirmed for 2027. Insomniac is splitting the single three-night weekend into two full weekends at the Speedway: EDC Dusk (May 14-16, 2027) and EDC Dawn (May 21-23, 2027), bookended by a 12-day "Dusk Till Dawn" run of EDC-themed events across Las Vegas from May 13-24. Insomniac says 2027 will run at lower capacity than prior years, meaning more room on the dance floor and (in theory) easier travel and hotel booking. Lineup and stage details for each weekend hadn't been announced as of this check — confirm your ticket covers the correct weekend before booking flights, since it's no longer one trip.
Is there camping at EDC Las Vegas?
Yes — Camp EDC sits right on the Speedway grounds, and it isn't a pitch-your-own-tent situation. It's happened before, too: wind forced stage closures in 2025, 2019, and 2012. If a safety alert flashes on the screens, expect an hour or two of pause, not a canceled night.
