Chicago in late July runs hot and humid with a real chance of pop-up thunderstorms — the festival has weather-evacuated before. Concrete and turf underfoot all day.

You go home every night, so pack for one great day, not a week — the backpack you'd bring camping just gets you pulled aside at the gate. Wristbands double as your wallet if you register for Lolla Cashless before you fly in, so a lost card at the merch tent stops being a crisis. Settle your exit before the headliner ends: the CTA Red or Blue Line to Jackson or Monroe beats fighting for a rideshare with a hundred thousand people converging on the same six blocks.

Small clutches or fanny packs up to 6 x 9 inches with one pocket clear security fastest and don't need to be transparent; anything bigger has to be a fully clear bag no larger than 12 x 6 x 12 inches. Hydration packs are fine non-clear, capped at two main compartments plus one smaller one, but they have to arrive empty. Backpacks with an internal frame, coolers, glass, and outside food or drink get turned away at any size. Skip the bag entirely if you can — it's the fastest line at the gate.
